Beach Theme Wedding
Beach wedding ceremonies are extremely exciting, wonderful, romantic and picturesque. More and more couples are going off to exotic locales and getting married on the beach. It is one of the most romantic settings.
So, here we will give you some brilliant tips on how to organize a truly amazing beach wedding.
1. Location
If you are planning a destination beach wedding then be sure to check with the local rules and authorities. Finding a beach location would not be a difficult task for you if you live in a coastal state. Always choose a beach which has suitable wedding conditions in the season you are planning your wedding.
2. Invitations
You could get the theme off to a good start by putting a small amount of sand in each guest’s wedding invitation. Another idea is to have the invitations resemble a postcard with a photo of the bride and groom at the beach.
3. Dresses
For a beach wedding a simple and informal dress would be perfect for the bride. A heavy wedding gown complete with train might be uncomfortable on a warm day. If you want a long dress then consider a loose fitting and fluid scarf dress with an empire waist either halter, strapless or off the shoulder.
It can be made of chiffon, mesh or silk, either a solid color or a subtle print of flowers or paisley. Instead of wearing a veil you can wear pretty hair accessory instead. Flat shoes or no shoes at all are best for a beach wedding. Bridesmaids and groomsmen can wear shades of ocean green, sky blue, and sand beige. The groom can wear anything from a linen suit to a colorful beach shirt.
4. Decorations
You can include many things in your beach wedding decorations. Decorate the chairs with garlands of shells, starfish or corals. Use charms of sandals as wine or champagne glass markers at the reception. You could also have white galvanized buckets holding bottles of water for your guests. You could also place four large rattan poles upright into the sand and drape white gauze over top as a canopy for your guests to sit under.
At the reception, use decorative pieces of driftwood as place card holders and thread either a beautiful ribbon or natural raffia through a sand dollar to use as a napkin ring. You can use seashells of various shapes and sizes, star fishes and pearls to decorate on the table. Other things that you can use are buoys, nets, anchors, ropes, life rings, surf boards and oars.
5. Centerpiece
For the centerpiece you can use crystal or glass bowls filled with sand, glass marbles, pearls, small seashells and starfishes. A glass or crystal votive can be placed in the middle of the centerpiece with a candle inside. The lit candle will reflect off the shells and the marbles causing a nice effect. Tropical flowers also make wonderful centerpieces. You can also use floating candles, beach toys and ribbons to make your centerpiece more attractive.
6. Music
You could set the wedding march to a reggae beat and use Caribbean type instruments for your wedding music, such as a steel drum or a bamboo flute. It would be nice to have the bride’s arrival announced by a conch shell horn.
